Dance, Drama and Entertainment
ÌÇÐÄlogoÃ×·ÆÍà is dedicated to creating rich artistic experiences that provide the opportunity to extend creative talents and skills in a variety of imaginative and challenging ways.
Learning through the Arts should not only be lively and enjoyable, but should also lead students to a better understanding of themselves and of the real world in which they live.
All students have the opportunity to participate in some form of Performing Arts activity whether through ÌÇÐÄlogoÃ×·ÆÍà co-curricular dance programs, Theatresports competitions and drama productions or through our partnership with speech and drama provider, The Speech and Drama Studio.

Dance
Dance is an integral component of ÌÇÐÄlogoÃ×·ÆÍÃ’s performing arts programs.With 20 programs catering for Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, our co-curricular Dance program is fully inclusive, providing an opportunity for all students to develop their skills and engage with dance as an art form, regardless of ability and experience.
Drama
Middle Years Drama Company
The Middle Years Drama Company is for students from Year 7 to Year 9 to allow them to become part of a collaborative creative community. It aims to cultivate essential skills that benefit their academic, emotional and social wellbeing to develop a healthy appreciation of culture and arts. It allows students to become informed citizens who experientially develop self-confidence, imagination, cooperation and communication skills through performance.
During Term 1 and Term 2 students will have the opportunity to playbuild and devise original works, learn improvisational skills and explore a variety of monologues and duologues. This training culminates in creating group pieces and duologues to compete in the Sydney Eisteddfod throughout May and June.
In Term 3 and Term 4 students will work towards putting on a Middle Years Production, a wonderful opportunity to act and experience the extensive, demanding and breathtaking nature of the wonderful world of theatre.
Theatresports
Year 7 to Year 12
Theatresports is a form of improvisational theatre that uses the format of a competition for dramatic effect. ÌÇÐÄlogoÃ×·ÆÍà participates annually in the Theatresports Schools Challenge, in which they compete in teams of three to five against other schools, creating one-, two- and three-minute improvised scenes live on stage, judged and scored by improvisation professionals.
Speech and Drama
Our Speech and Drama co-curricular programs create rich artistic experiences and aim to provide the opportunity to extend students in a fun and nurturing environment. Programs are delivered by ÌÇÐÄlogoÃ×·ÆÍÃ's Dance, Drama and Entertainment department and by external specialist tutors from The Speech and Drama Studio.
What’s on Offer?
ÌÇÐÄlogoÃ×·ÆÍà students, their families and members of the local community, including other schools, can take part in:
- Speech and Drama lessons for students Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12
- Diplomas in performance and teaching, accredited by Trinity College
- Courses in effective communication skills
- Ensembles for performance and production
- Holiday productions, workshops and masterclasses
The co-curricular Speech and Drama programs at ÌÇÐÄlogoÃ×·ÆÍà are delivered by external specialist tutors. They come from diverse backgrounds; from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) to established and well-known corporations such as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Bell Shakespeare and Sport for Jove.
